Bride Story

One day, in the most surprising and unlikely of circumstances, Alex (the groom) reached out to us all the way from London to discuss their wedding plans almost a year and a month ago to this designer via Facebook. It was Alex who discussed to us everything initially and how firm April (the bride) wanted yours truly to make her wedding gown on their wedding day. Alex and yours truly go a long way back as we were both classmates from Kindergarten to High School in the province where we both grew up to. This designer was clueless as to how April got a look on our work but I guess due to our connection with Alex, she felt confident that we can deliver what she had envisioned for her wedding.

A few months after that initial exchange of messages via Facebook, the couple came home to settle all their wedding plans with their suppliers and that included our team. The meeting went well and this designer would like to describe our Bride April as someone who knew what she wanted and was easy to please. April was the only Bride that I met so far that was logical and knew how to handle situations correctly. She was a very hands-on Bride but she was not one who micromanages everything. April as a Bride was also very collaborative. She knows what to suggest to guide and improve this designer's creative direction and more so, she also was one who placed all of her trust to our team which added a little bit of pressure. Well all of this designer's Brides trusted us so much that we only had one Bride who complained for our assertiveness which we find it so weird. Furthermore, April is not selfish with compliments as she is very generous enough to let us know and hear that we are doing a great job as a team. Her being hands-on with the project allowed us to be more confident with how we work and during the process, April was not even keen at monitoring on her own wedding gown as she wanted the entourages dress to be settled first (which included her mother's gown) and the entire wedding plans to be perfect over-all. In other words, she's putting aside her own interests for the benefit of others. How cool is that for a Bride?

Fast forward and a year a later, Alex and April exchanged their vows inside the oldest grand cathedral in Legazpi which is the St. Gregory the Great Cathedral and had their reception at the Oriental Legazpi which treated the guests with a scenic view of the majestic Mt. Mayon Volcano. The wedding was just how April wanted it and planned it from the reception set up, the gowns, the music, the food and down to the very detail of the invitation. April and Alex's dream wedding was nothing short of a dream fulfilled and as how this designer would describe it, it was exquisite! And as for her gown and her entourage's dresses, she wanted dresses adorned with lace and beads (that is barely seen) in old rose and white in very simple basic silhouettes that would highlight a woman's figure. It was one of the many firsts for this designer to make entourage dresses with lace patchwork details and we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished.

This designer could not be any more thankful for having a Bride like April who's great working attitude is one for the books. Her very grateful and kind nature with a very logical mind (a great combination for a human being) made our jobs easier. The couple is now back in London and are both currently pursuing (and doing a great job) a career in the medical field. This designer can only wish them all the wonderful things in life ahead of them.
