Bride Story

Therese who is fondly called as "Giselle" by her friends met yours truly through a recommendation from a good friend Chuck, who with his partner Mhar has a wedding coordination company called "The Wedding Bachelors". Therese is from Ontario, Canada who this designer has never even met personally even for her measurements to be taken vis-a-vis. Everything was just communicated digitally including the design, measurements and the entire concept of their wedding. Our Bride, was herself a fashion design student back here in the Philippines and no wonder why she was very confident to communicate with us her design ideas even if it was just through emails and phone calls (mostly emails). It was so funny because like most brides, she was very candid about telling yours truly about her body type and how challenging it would be for this designer to create a very beautiful and flattering wedding dress for her. It will be a challenge yes, however it should never be an excuse for her not to look fabulous on her wedding day exclaimed this designer. Therese wanted a dress that is adorned with lace and we both agreed that her dress should make her look tall, highlight her curves with a design that is a mix between a serpentine cut and a ball gown (with a basque waist) that remains classic with an understated elegance. So yes we did follow her requests and ended up with a gown that matched with her preference which she was extremely happy about.

Therese never saw the dress in person but only through photos from constant updates through emails and Facebook until the day she arrived for her first and final fitting two weeks and a half before her wedding. She also got to finally meet this designer in person. We were both nervous in fact, no expectations were set as we were both just equally anxious whether or not if the dress would fit her perfectly on her first fitting. Before trying the dress on, she was extremely happy and delighted to see how far our collaboration came through with a final output that was just communicated online (which we were both proud of) and to see if what we've worked on really worked, she finally fitted the dress. There was a lot of nerves in the air and while she was making her way through the dress, this designer already had in mind a plan on how to alter the dress the quickest way possible just for the dress to make it in time for the wedding. She slipped her arms through the sleeves, fixed the bodice in her body and after Therese had the neckline set in place, this designer zipped her up and VOILA! A perfect fit! We both screamed for joy. We also screamed as if it was the only way to release our tension, stress and at the same time rejoice in the fact that we really did not have to alter anything. Furthermore, the gown is ready and that's another tick off the list of things-to-do from our Bride's Bridal endeavors to accomplish. It was a huge sigh of relief and for this designer, it was the highlight of the entire experience with our Bride Therese. She was extremely grateful and she could not be any more happier that our collaboration (through the means of digital technology and the hands of our skilled workers) became a success.

Our experience with Therese, like most of our Brides overseas was one-of-a-kind. You can just imagine the anxiety like most of the Brides would experience with their suppliers especially if you're far away from their location. All you can do as a Bride if all of these problems would arise is to hope and pray that things would go as smoothly as planned or find an effective remedy for the situation at least. For Therese however, she handled it well and despite all the things that she needed to squeeze within that last two weeks and a half before her wedding, the entire ceremony was successful; thanks to all the helping hand and the efforts of The Wedding Bachelors as well.

Before ending this beautiful story, this designer would also like to share that Therese and Mark were blessed to have a beautiful daughter before the wedding and this designer was fortunate enough to dress her up as she was one of the flower girls (and the cutest!) in the ceremony. This was the only time this designer experienced such a wonderful occasion and for sure, their daughter will have a beautiful memory of the wedding to reminisce when she grows up.
